Western Digital’s Japan entity changes company name from SanDisk Limited to Western Digital GK
Western Digital today announced plans to change the name of its Japanese entity from SanDisk Limited (HQ: Minato-ward, Tokyo, President, Atsuyoshi Koike) to Western Digital GK as of January 1, 2021.
New entity name: Western Digital GK
Effective date: January 1, 2021

Background
Western Digital provides NAND flash memory, drive devices-SDD (Solid State Drive) and HDD (Hard Disk Drive) to retail consumers, enterprises, and large-scale data centers. We provide top-level total storage solutions, developing and mass-producing multiple products, including WD® and SanDisk® brands.
As part of ongoing integration activity, Western Digital is renaming certain legacy entities to align with the Western Digital name. We aim to create a corporate structure that allows for quick decision-making and that can further contribute to our business partners. Western Digital will continue to market products under the Western Digital®, G-Technology™, SanDisk® and WD® brands.
