Hassle Free Return for the Holidays
Western Digital Store is introducing an extended return policy this holiday season. Items purchased starting 22 November through 22 December 2021, can be returned until 22 January 2022, for most reasons, without exceptions. Contact Western Digital support to determine if your order qualifies, and to begin the process of a return. This policy is subject to exclusions.
Subject to the exclusions below, the Western Digital Store accepts returns of purchased items within 30 days of the date of shipment. We will issue a credit for products that arrived defective or have become defective within 30 days of shipment. Visit Western Digital Support to help determine if your product is defective or if a solution exists.
Exclusions: Software once it was made available to you by sending you a link for downloading or a license key via email or other electronic delivery method or for which instructions to download (including from a third party platform) have been provided to you and (ii) any products which we inform you may not be returned.
No, the Western Digital Store does not issue credit for costs incurred in shipping a returned item.
However, if a Return Merchandise Authorization is granted, you will receive a pre-paid shipping label.
The Western Digital Store must receive the returned item within 10 days after a Return Merchandise Authorization number has been issued. An assigned RMA number is valid for 10 days only and will expire on the 11th day after the date of issuance, at which time any returned products will be refused.
Items should be returned in as-new condition, in original packaging with the packing slip, all warranty cards, UPC tags, manuals and accessories in the original shipping carton or similar packaging. Failure to return all original merchandise with accompanying accessories and materials will result in the product being returned without credit and at the expense of the customer. If you ordered a bare drive, you must return it in the same box with the drive seated in the plastic endcaps to protect it during transit.
Shipped items that are either refused by the customer or cannot be delivered by the carrier, will be returned to the Western Digital Store and you will be refunded the price you paid in respect of your order if you paid in advance however we will not refund you your shipping costs unless the item is defective, misdescribed or non-conforming or unless you chose the least expensive means of shipment.
Please allow 7-10 business days for a credit to be issued. It is the customer's responsibility to make immediate and adequate arrangements with the shipping company to accept a shipment after the first failed delivery attempt.
Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) instructions for products purchased on the Western Digital Store within the last 30 days:
Request a Return
You will need to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number so your return can be processed. If you placed an order under a registered account, you have the option to initiate a return from within your account under Order History. If you placed an order under a guest account, an RMA number can be obtained by calling Western Digital Customer Service: +1 (888) 527-1441.
Once your return is approved, you will be able to generate a pre-paid shipping label. Please attach this shipping label to your return shipment.
Write your RMA number on your return
Write your RMA number clearly on the outside of the package to be returned. All products must be returned in the original manufacturer packaging. If your product was shipped in a standard carton, please be sure to return using the same or similar packaging. If you ordered a bare drive, you must return it in the same box with the drive seated in the plastic end caps to protect it during transit. When using the original carton, please ensure that all previous shipping labels or other markings have been removed or covered completely.
Ship the product back to us
You must send the product back to us using the UPS pre-paid shipping label, or a carrier of your own choice. If you are using our pre-paid shipping label, simply drop off the shipment at your local UPS facility. If you decide to use your own shipping label, you will not be reimbursed for any shipping costs incurred. If you ship the item(s) yourselves, the Western Digital Store will not be responsible for items lost in transit to our returns processing center or any return that does not have a signed Proof of Delivery. Please note that standard USPS Priority Mail does not provide the required proof of delivery. We strongly urge you to use UPS, FedEx or DHL. It is your responsibility to retain a copy of the return's tracking number in the event that the item is lost in transit.

Keep your tracking number
Please keep the shipping carrier's Package Tracking Number as proof of your return.
Once the return is received, please allow up to 7-10 business days for the credit to appear on your account. Credit will be issued to the payment method or credit card used for your original purchase. Please note that failure to return all original merchandise with accompanying accessories and materials will result in the product being returned without credit and at the expense of the customer. If there are any delays in receiving your credit, please contact our Customer Support Team.
Unfortunately, in the majority of cases, we are unable to cancel an order as orders are processed for shipment immediately upon completion.
Please call Western Digital Customer Service for further assistance. You will need to provide your Order ID and the part number(s).
Subject to the exclusions below, if we are unable to cancel your purchase, you have two options:
Refuse delivery of the product. This will send the package back to Western Digital. Please allow 7 - 10 business days for a credit to be issued.
Accept the package and follow the Western Digital Store returns process to return and receive credit for your purchase.
Exclusions: Software is not cancellable once it was made available to you by sending you a link for downloading or a license key via email or other electronic delivery method or for which instructions to download (including from a third party platform) have been provided to you.
Product purchased from an authorized reseller may be returned to the reseller and is subject to the terms and conditions of the reseller. Contact the reseller directly for return instructions.
