Position 1
Position       : Staff Engineer / Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : Firmware Engineering
Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, analyze, debug, and modify real-time embedded Hard Drive firmware code applications to support new program introduction and enhance factory Cost, Yield, Quality and performance.
  • Work with respective functional teams (e.g. servo, channel, PCBA, Mechanical, IC, interface, test, FIT) to bring up new hardware and software with the firmware features
  • Provide analysis and solutions to customer issues.

Requirements:

  • Masters / Bachelors Degree in Computer / Electronics Engineering
  • Extensive in-depth experience with C / C++, assembly languages, code development process with debug emulation and simulation tools
  • Embedded system development, ARM and real-time programming
  • ATA, SATA, SAS, SCSI experience is a plus
  • Sound knowledge of uP base electronics, system design, analysis and application.

Position 2
Position       : Staff Engineer / Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : Engineering Failure Analysis
Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to manage failure analysis activities such as final quality test, reliability test & customer field return.
  • To supervise & manage a FA organization to analyse drive funtional fallout from FQA/Reliability
  • Continuously support outgoing drive quality objectives
  • Support Engineering & QA evaluations whenever is necessary in terms of FA.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years experience in HDD industry is an added advantage.

Position 3
Position       : Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : FIT Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and understand a variety of complex technical specifications and apply that knowledge to using and enhancing our test suite and test processes
  • Interface with the program teams to communicate schedules, assess readiness and assist in making risk assessments
  • Debug test failures with advanced drive features using sophisticated program similar to C test programs, OEM tests, and a variety of other test programs under various Operating Systems
Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering or Computer Science preferably with 1 year relevant working experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex technical specifications
  • Good C / C++ programming knowledge. Familiarity with PC hardware, software and Operating Systems is an added advantage.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting abilities.

Position 4
Position       : Staff Engineer/Senior Engineer
Department : Supplier Quality Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • SQE for assigned Commodity and/or Functional team (Electrical, Mechanical, HSA Components, Media, etc)
  • Assure all parts shipped from supplier meet all documented WD specifications and fully comply with approved PMP at supplier’s site.
  • Drive for continuous improvement in material/component Yield and Quality performance and ensure lowest cost of ownership at the supply base.
  • Initiate SCAR, MSSO, SPCN and execute upon approval.
  • Drive CIP at suppliers pertaining to Yield and Quality, Product Environment compliance & Contamination control.
  • Assign new trace-ability code for new Supplier/Mfg site
  • Weekly review of suppliers` SOQM, SCC & CPCP data.
  • Present SQR and summary of accomplishment and opportunities at supplier QBR.

Requirements: 

  • Min Degree in Applied Sc (Physics/Chemistry), Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • Min 3 years experience in a HDD environment & exposure in Product/Process/Quality/Supplier Management roles.
  • Experience in of ISO9001, ISO14001 and/or OHSAS18001, EICC, Product Environmental Compliance/RoHS, SPC/Six Sigma & FMEA.

Position 5
Position       : Staff Engineer / Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : Asia Engineering HSA & Media

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for technological transfer of Headstack and Media from US R&D facility and assist in the development of new products
  • To perform system to component level in depth Failure Analysis on reject parts and recommends technical solutions
  • Provide technical direction and support in resolving yield and reliability issues related to Headstack / Media
  • Liaise with suppliers on failure analysis activities, review reports and developing new test to address relevant sources of failures
Requirements:
  • Master / Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum 4 years working experience as Product Engineering Management in high-tech manufacturing environment
  • Must be analytical, technically inclined and enjoy technical project management type of job function

Position 6
Position       : Staff Engineer/Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : Asia Advance Read Channel FA Engineering

Position 6(a)

  • Technical solution provider for issues and problems related to Read Channel and Hard Disk Drive
  • Responsible for Read Channel optimization to improve product reliability, quality and utilisation
  • Co-develop new product and channel feature with US counterpart.

Position 6(b)
  • Firmware coding to improve channel optimization.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering with CGPA of 3.2 and above
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge in C/C++ programming language is necessary for the position of channel firmware coder.

Position 7
Position       : Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : Asia Engineering Product

Responsibilities:

  • Involve in yield improvement activities to improve test yield.
  • Perform failure analysis to determine failure mechanism and pursue appropriate corrective actions
  • Verify and implement production test and debug software.
  • Develop and maintain debug software.
  • Involve in new product transfer and provide engineering support leading to solutions, during F, D, V, LVM, and HVM build phases; which includes travel fro selected product transfer participants.
  • Recommend test methodology and test process.
  • Disposition of non-conformance materials.
  • Resolve quality and yield issues by performing failure analysis to determine root cause and initiate corrective actions.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering (Electronic / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering) or Science (Physics)
  • 1 to 2 years product failure analysis experience in a high volume manufacturing environment will be an added advantage
  • Need to travel.

Position 8
Position       : Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : Asia QC Manufacturing

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate QC engineering and QC manufacturing on implementation of quality plan of both product and system audits.
  • Coordinate Continuous Process Improvement team implementation activities based upon QC audit results and outgoing customer dppm.
  • Documentation of QC procedures / processes.
  • Implement Audit conformance of product.
  • Coordinate operator certification scheme.
  • Implement Audit conformance of system.
  • Execution of Maintenance and Calibration Plan of QC tools.

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. Degree in Engineering / Science with minimum 2 years working experience 
  • Knowledge in SPC and MSA 
  • Experience in problem solving, CLCA
  • Knowledge in mechanical, ESD and contamination will be an added advantage

Position 9(a)
Position       : FA Senior Engineer / Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Perform failure analysis to determine failure mechanism and pursue appropriate corrective actions
  • Support sustaining product and new product introduced to factory and improves tester yield, test time, quality and performance.
  • Execute experiments and prepare data for analysis.

Position 9(b)
Position       : Software/Firmware Engineer.

Responsibilities
  • Design/develop/maintain tester software and/or drive firmware
  • Support and improve production yield/test time/quality/performance
  • Execute experiments and prepare data for analysis

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronics / Computer Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge in C/C++ will be added advantage.(Position 9(a))

  • Sound knowledge in basic electronics, control theory, system design and applications

Position 10
Position       : Staff Engineer / Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : Engineering Process - Cleanroom

Responsibilities:

  • Provide troubleshooting service for daily process issues, to institute containment actions & subsequent long term solutions
  • Provide the operation with instructions on manufacturing methods, assembly instructions, reject disposal & all technical guidance.
  • Maintain & update a working knowledge or process flows, fixture piece part configurations & any other assigned technical area.
  • Responsible for operations using key indices such as process yields, Cpk’s PPM’s and to react to any abnormalities displayed by those indices.
  • Participate in product & technology transfer between work sites.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Physics/Chemical or Science

Position 11
Position       : Staff Engineer / Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : Head Gimble Assembly (HGA)

Responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage a group of engineers and technicians to support manufacturing of HGA on 24X7 basis.
  • Plan the resources, budget control and spare part management to meet department goals
  • To maintain HGA tooling equipments and meet KPIs target for yield, cycle time, downtime, UPH and cost.
  • To lead a team of technician and engineer to work on continuous tool and process improvement to optimize the tool performance.
  • Hands on experience of trouble shooting / maintenance machine.
  • Participate in product and technology transfer between work sites

Requirements:

  • Master/Degree in Engineering Electrical & Electronics / Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge in 6-sigma/ SPI process using Minitab tool will be added advantage.
  • Experience in Head Gimble Assembly will be added advantage

Position 12
Position       : Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : Headstack Process

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support for all process related issues by maintaining process knowledge, manufacturing trouble shooting and issuance of instructions to production on manufacturing.
  • To be the main technical resource for new product transfer, EOL control and any changes made to the method of manufacturing of the factory’s product.
  • Responsible for the product which is assigned to him in areas of transfer activities, process set-up and subsequent proliferation.
  • Responsible for the operations using key indices like process yields, Cpk’s, DPPM’s and to react to any abnormalities display by those indices.
  • Participate in product and technology transfer between work sites.

Requirements:

  • Master / Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum 1 year working experience as Process Engineer or any related engineering field in hi-tech manufacturing environment

Position 13

Department : Advance System Failure Analysis Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for failure analysis activities which involve complicated system and application issue in the factory or out in the field
  • To provide failure analysis support for specific functions like Head Media qualification, and Feature Integration Test (FIT)
  • Asist in new product launching from US in term of specific failure analysis support
  • Play a key role in implementing new/specific product or system feature to the factory

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering with CGPA of 3.2 and above.
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge in C/C++ programming language will be an added advantage

Position 14
Position       : Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department: Characterization Engineering

Responsibilities:

Position 14(a)

  • Perform Channel / Servo / Advance Head/Media Characterization to qualify component, product, firmware and process changes.
  • Analyze the data, characterize and recommend for improvement.
  • Perform failure analysis or channel the failure to responsible groups for analysis where applicable.

Position 14(b)

  • Responsible to ensure functional test software to support all new and sustaining drive programs.
  • Maintain the hardware and testers of the department.
  • Administer and troubleshoot the hardware and software operations of the department.
  • Debug test software issues.
  • Liaise with vendors for preventive maintenance and new testers design.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering/Computer Science with CGPA of 2.8 and above.
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in a high volume manufacturing environment preferably in the hard-disk drive facility (Read Channel, Tribology or Servo area), for senior post.
  • Experience in lab based and data analysis work.
  • Knowledge in SPC is a plus.
  • Experience with C++, Java, SQL, assembly language. Knowledge in Oracle database, Novell, Linux. Familiar with PC hardware/software and operating systems - Position 14(b)
  • Understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 and/or OHSAS18001, EICC is a plus
  • Need to travel.

Position 15
Position       : Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : Quality Assurance - Reliability

Responsibilities:

  • Engage/ support NPL stream on new product qualification reliability testing, tester planning, test requirements and product readiness.
  • Coordinate & perform BEST(Basic Environmental Stress Test) & ORT ( Ongoing reliability test to ensure product meets specifications and ship criteria
  • Coordinate failure analysis and verify corrective actions for reliability failures.
  • Support Engineering /SQE in evaluating and qualifying new components, design or process
  • Prepare Reliability Indices Report, Data for Critical Parameters & Identification of Virtual Failures.
  • Provide Data and Trend Analysis for driving Product Improvement.
  • Involved in Test process improvement, e.g. UTV reduction, data automation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Science (Physic), Material Science & Chemistry
  • 1-2 years working experience in reliability for semiconductor or hard disk drive manufacturing facility.

Position 16
Position       : Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : New Product Launch (NPL)

Responsibilities:

  • Project management in development phase for new process technology capability deployment to future programs/products.
  • Formulate deployment plans and roadmap to achieve end goal of the projects.
  • To be able to work with inter-functional team or department aligning with the business goal and drive for deployment per committed.
  • Plan the resources, budget control management to meet department goals

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering Electrical & Electronics / Mechanical Engineering
  • Project Management is essential
  • PMI, IT Projects PM and Automation is added advantage.

Position 17
Position       : Senior Engineer / Engineer
Department : Head Media Integration

Responsibilities:

  • Project Manage and coordinate activity spanning from the inception at HSA (Wafer type/binning) , to the introduction to the HVM environment.
  • Formulate deployment plans and roadmap to meet the business needs for the Head Media Combo HVM release.
  • To be able work the Head Media Development team and the Factory Execution team to deliver the Head Media combo from the qualification stage through the HVM release.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering Electrical & Electronics / Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
  • Experience in Hard Disk Drives Head Media technology is an advantage.
  • PMI, IT Projects PM and Automation is added advantage.
